• Location: Mountain Home, AR 72653 (Baxter County) — Arkansas mammography jobs / travel radiology jobs
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/12/2026 – End: 8/11/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,850 – $1,990
• Setting: Hospital-based Mammography Unit — breast imaging, DEXA (bone density)
• Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00 – 16:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Orientation: 16 hours

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Graduate of an ARRT-accredited radiography program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist (3 years preferred) — screening and diagnostic mammography experience preferred
• Current ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (M) or Mammography certification preferred
• Valid State of Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Experience with Cerner EMR/charting system preferred
• Proficiency with 3-D tomosynthesis (3-D mammography), digital mammography, needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and bone density (DEXA) scans
• Strong communication and patient-care skills; ability to work calmly in high-stress or time-sensitive situations
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with proper body mechanics
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required (medical or religious exemptions considered)
• Previous travel assignment experience and flexibility highly preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms, including 3-D tomosynthesis, for adult patients
• Assist radiologists during needle localizations, stereotactic biopsies, and other breast imaging procedures
• Operate and maintain advanced mammography equipment and ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy; provide clear pre- and post-procedure instructions
• Document procedures accurately in Cerner and maintain thorough patient imaging records
• Follow radiation safety practices, universal precautions, and infection control standards
• Educate patients on breast health and self-exam techniques when appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including radiologists, IV/clinical staff, CT/MRI techs, and pharmacy
• Participate in equipment maintenance, quality improvement initiatives, and department meetings
