Required Qualifications – Labor & Delivery Nurse
- Active RN license (Maryland or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of recent, high-volume Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS certification (AHA)
- Strong clinical assessment, maternal-fetal monitoring, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced perinatal environment
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and postpartum/newborn experience preferred
Key Responsibilities – L&D RN / Maternity Nurse
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns across the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum phases
- Perform maternal and fetal monitoring, recognize changes in condition, and escalate care appropriately
- Assist physicians and midwives during labor, deliveries, and urgent obstetric procedures
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed while following safety protocols
- Offer patient and family education and emotional support to promote a positive birth experience
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic medical records
