• Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license valid for practice in New York
• At least 1 year of acute-care registered nursing experience
• Recent medical-surgical nursing and telemetry experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale competency or certification
• Ability to read and interpret basic cardiac rhythm strips before starting the assignment
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments, including NIH Stroke Scale assessments
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, identify changes promptly, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Provide evidence-based nursing care for acute stroke and complex telemetry patients
• Follow stroke core measures, including dysphagia screening, patient education, and individualized care planning
• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with barcode medication administration standards
• Coordinate care with providers, rehabilitation services, case management, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Manage admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient flow in a high-turnover healthcare environment
• Promote fall prevention, skin integrity, infection prevention, and overall patient safety
• Collaborate effectively with primary and team nursing staff to deliver consistent, patient-centered care
