Emergency Department RN Job Details

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• Ability to work on-site for the full 13-week nursing contract
• Availability for every other weekend and all three shift types, including days, evenings, and nights
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions
• Perform patient assessments, triage, monitoring, treatment, and reassessments in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly according to emergency protocols
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
• Educate patients and families and support safe transitions of care
