Join a collaborative medical-surgical nursing team as a travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Unit: 22-bed medical-surgical unit with patient assignments of up to 1:6
• Call: No call or call-back requirements
• Orientation: 8 hours; guaranteed hours may vary during orientation and designated holiday closures
• Float Expectations: May float to comparable units or nearby facilities based on census and demonstrated clinical competency

Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in a short-term acute care hospital
• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience
• Associate degree or nursing certificate
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Recent Epic charting experience within the past 12 months
• Strong telemetry skills, including the ability to read cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips
• Ability to work day shifts, weekend rotations, and holiday rotations
• Previous completed travel nursing assignment preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an applicable medical or religious exemption is approved

Medical-Surgical Nursing Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Complete comprehensive assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education
• Monitor telemetry and accurately identify and report cardiac rhythm changes
• Safely manage cardiac drips and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Prioritize care for a patient assignment of up to 1:6 while maintaining quality and patient safety standards
• Float to appropriate units or nearby facilities as needed, consistent with clinical skills and competency
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
• Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, professionalism, and a collaborative approach in a changing clinical environment
• Willingness to receive additional training for future charge responsibilities is preferred but not required
