Opportunity:
PCU and MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with various shift times available: 7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend requirement with self-scheduling options
• Patient ratios: 1:4 for PCU patients, 1:5 for med/surg patients (mixed unit)
• Night shift ratios: 1:5-6 patients
• Work on 28-bed unit (6 East) providing care for adult oncology and trauma patients
• Must pass open book skills exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score requirement
• 2 days of orientation provided
• Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Charge nurse experience preferred (minimum 1 year)
• Oncology and PCU experience required; chemotherapy certification preferred
• Must be comfortable titrating insulin and cardizem drips
• Work with common medications including chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix
• Use EPIC charting system and Alaris IV pumps
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and provide driver's license at submission
• Competencies include ventilator care and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000, ICP)
• Focus on hourly rounding and exceptional patient experience
