Opportunity:

Acute Care Physical Therapy

Job Details:

• Work 5x8 hour shifts Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• California Physical Therapy license required and must be in hand prior to start
• Required certification: BLS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
• Provide physical therapy services across acute care settings including ER, ICU, and Medical Surgical units
• Treat a variety of diagnoses including total hip replacement, total knee replacement, CABG, general surgery, fractures, and general medical conditions
• Perform evaluations, reassessments, and develop plans of care and short-term goals
• Deliver home exercise programs and patient and family education
• Assist with gait training using assistive devices including standard walkers, crutches, and gait belts
• Monitor vital signs, assess pain, and evaluate skin integrity
• Assist with lifting, transfers, and body mechanics
• Work with patients managing conditions such as COPD, CHF, myocardial infarction, post-stroke rehabilitation, hip fractures, and knee injuries
• Perform AROM, AAROM, and PROM techniques
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Free parking available
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state

Facility:

This is a 212-bed acute care hospital serving as a small, community-based facility offering a full range of services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and provides a collaborative interdisciplinary care environment. Free parking is available on-site for all staff.
