Job Details:
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Pediatric Emergency Department setting - Peds ED is separate from the Main ED
• May care for holding patients
• Possible float to PICU and general Pediatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or more
• Previous Pediatric ED experience required
• 1.5+ years of experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• Proficient ventilator management preferred
• PICU experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Required skills include: care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, interpretation of 12-lead EKG, interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Active NJ or Compact license required
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays
Facility:
This facility features a large emergency department with 73 beds including pediatrics and fast track areas, along with a 19-bed rapid decision unit. The Pediatric Emergency Department operates as a separate unit from the Main ED, providing specialized care for pediatric patients. The facility also includes a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, offering a comprehensive continuum of care for younger patients across multiple levels of acuity.
