Opportunity:
RN - CICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour per week schedule
• Alternating weekend schedule required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
• Unit staffing consists of RNs only with no HUC or PCT support
• Wear all navy or navy and white scrubs; no pullovers or hoodies, no green scrubs except when uniform is soiled at work
• Work with equipment including ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment
• Document using Cerner electronic health record system
• Float to all areas of the facility as needed
• ICU experience required
• Required skills include titration of vesicant medications, familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics, experience with vents and trachs, telemetry interpretation, understanding of hemodynamics, PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Perform or assist with procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Desirable advanced skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience
• No certifications required; CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated
• 16-bed unit located in the J Building

This facility is a well-established hospital offering a comprehensive range of medical services, including a specialized cardiac intensive care unit. The CICU is a 16-bed unit equipped with advanced technology and modern equipment to support high-acuity cardiac patients. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and provides a dynamic environment for experienced critical care nurses to utilize and expand their clinical expertise.
