Opportunity:

RN - Med-Surg Cardiac Medical Unit

Job Details:

• Work in a 23-bed Cardiac Medical Unit with 1 treatment room
• Day shift patient ratios: 1:4 RN to patient
• Night shift patient ratios: 1:5 RN to patient
• Every other weekend requirement
• Hospital scrubs required for dress code
• Float within alike areas as needed
• Work with telemetry monitoring equipment including hard-wired rooms, vein finders, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, manual/automatic vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and dopplers
• Utilize Allscripts EMR with medication scanning capabilities and soft-lab
• Care for hemodynamically stable cardiac patients including MI, acute/chronic heart failure, new onset AFib, stable dysrhythmias, and procedural patients (cardiac caths, ablations, cardioversions, ICD, pacers)
• Manage cardiac drips including Amio, Dilt, Dopamine (renal dose), Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix, and insulin drips
• Also care for ICU transfers, neuro patients (CVA), and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, Hi-flow, and Salter
• Perform and assist with cardiac procedures including left/right heart caths via femoral/radial approach without intervention, pacers, ablations, cardioversions, and EP studies
• Must have cardiac telemetry knowledge and skill set
• Strong medical-surgical knowledge and background with telemetry preferred
• Must be engaging, team oriented, flexible/adaptable, and patient centered
• Required certification: ACLS
