Opportunity:

RN - Medical Telemetry

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
• Holidays worked on a rotation basis based on unit coverage
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• High acuity patient population including Gyn surgeries, pre liver transplant, ESRD, cellulitis, pneumonia, diabetics, and DKA
• Patient ratios of 1:4
• 30-bed Medical Telemetry unit
• Must be proficient in IV insertion; IV experience is required
• Must be able to read EKGs independently using Phillips telemetry system
• Charting completed in Cerner EMR
• Must be able to manage patients on Bipap and CPAP; patients must be independent
• 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
• First to float to MS/Tele, Westgate, or AZ General Laveen Campus as needed
• Approximately 1/3 patient turnover per day
• Must complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation covering Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion; sterile field competency is required
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting the assignment; 2 attempts allowed
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Travel teams must have their own vehicles
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS

This acute care facility operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center, providing the highest level of trauma care available. The facility features a 30-bed Medical Telemetry unit with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, a dedicated SWAT RN team for difficult IV access, and charge nurses without patient assignments. The organization maintains high clinical standards and utilizes advanced monitoring systems and electronic health records to support quality patient care across multiple campuses.
