Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
• Every other weekend required with Saturday and Sunday designated as weekend shifts for both days and nights
• Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule; most staff group Friday with weekend shifts working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday consecutively
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Self-scheduling and blocked schedules allowed as long as unit needs are met
• 1 shift orientation with a preceptor provided
• Float only to other MedSurg units
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certification: BLS
• Scrub color: Navy blue; jackets if worn must also be navy blue
• Care for post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and chemotherapy patients
• May be assigned to both clean and dirty patient hallways simultaneously; must be comfortable with this
• Manage patients on remote telemetry monitored by monitor tech on the 3rd floor; no monitors on unit
• Administer Heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac drips
• Work with BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow oxygen all managed per respiratory therapy
• Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver's license at time of submission
• Any hits on professional license must be disclosed at time of submission

The facility provides comprehensive support including a Clinical Manager Monday through Saturday who serves as both charge nurse and nurse manager, as well as a resource nurse on nights.
