Job Details:

• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts with possible accommodation for straight nights
• 4 weekend shifts required per contract
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7 for days, nights, and weekends
• May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs as needed
• 27 rooms and 34 beds on unit
• Treats patients across age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include medical non-monitored conditions
• Special procedures include post-op joint replacement, post-op weight loss management surgery, and post-op general surgery
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• 1 year of medical/surgical experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Active PA or compact nursing license required at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• Block scheduling available pending manager approval based on unit needs
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission and is subject to unit needs
• Must be available to work every other holiday
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, insulin administration, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, IV placement and management, and use of rapid response/code teams

The medical-surgical unit is equipped to handle a diverse patient population with complex needs, including post-operative care and general medical conditions, ensuring a comprehensive and collaborative care environment.
