Opportunity:
Neuro EXP Tele RN
Job Details:
• Position may float between units to meet unit needs
• No on-call required
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedules not required
• Expected patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift orientation consists of 36 hours
• Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Daily census of 48 patients across 48 rooms and 64 beds
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH scale and proficiency caring for post-surgical neurology patients and varied neurology diagnoses
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation
• Unit holds a Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation and is a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation, housing 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The facility offers robust interdisciplinary support services and is home to specialized centers including a designated stroke unit, a Spine Center of Excellence, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center, all holding JCAHO designations.
