Job Details:

• Day shift position on a Neuroscience/Neurology/Neurosurgical/Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• No block schedules required
• Float between units as needed to meet unit needs
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Neurology RN experience required; must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and other neurology diagnoses
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
• Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 staffed beds and 64 beds on the neuroscience unit, it is a teaching hospital equipped with modern resources including Epic charting and interpretation services. The neuroscience unit is a designated stroke unit and holds multiple JCAHO designations, reflecting its commitment to specialized, high-quality neurological care.
