Opportunity:
ICU / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Self-scheduling
• Required to float to CICU and other areas within the organization as needed
• Preferred charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be licensed to practice in SC at time of submission, no pending licenses accepted
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• 2 supervisory references required
• Keep time off requests to a minimum, preferably no requests in the first two weeks of the assignment or for full calendar weeks off
• Expect to work some holidays
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, arterial line management, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), suctioning (ETT, NT), and isolation precautions/PPE
• Patient diagnoses include: GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, cardiac and respiratory arrest, overdose, suicide, CIWA/withdrawal, neurosurgical, surgical, post cardiac cath, end of life/comfort care, organ procurement, acute stroke, trauma, and targeted temperature management
• Special procedures include: chest tube insertion, EVD drains, CRRT, and acute stroke management
• Special equipment includes: CRRT, Zoll for targeted temperature management, and EKOS
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
