Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required; minimum Level III NICU experience required or 2 years at a Level IV NICU
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Block scheduling available; able to work 3 or more shifts in a row if preferred
• Intermittent weekend coverage required; managers work directly with travelers to accommodate schedule requests
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Care for neonates and infants ranging from 23-24 weeks gestation
• Travelers are generally not responsible for admitting babies, as a dedicated admit nurse fills that role
• May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or to Pediatrics/Newborn Nursery (care for newborns and infants only); float to PICU assigned newborns and infants only
• May be assigned as a "sitter" for all units; does not require patient care during sitter shifts
• Must be open to floating to different campuses
• Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required skills and equipment include:
   - CPAP/BiPAP, High Frequency Vents, Oscillators, Ventilators
   - Blood/Blood Products Administration
   - Cardioversion/Defibrillation
   - Cooling/Warming Blanket (Therapeutic Hypothermia)
   - Feeding Tubes (bottle, breast, gavage)
   - PICC/Central Lines
   - Syringe Pumps
   - Neonatal Dosage Calculations
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years (can include Charge RNs/Leads)
• 24 orientation hours provided
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Interpretation Services, and Unit Secretary

Facility:

This large Level III/IV NICU facility operates with 77 beds and an average daily census of 50 patients. The unit is equipped to care for critically ill neonates and infants, including those born as early as 23-24 weeks gestation. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services and maintains a collaborative environment where staff work closely with travelers to accommodate scheduling preferences. The unit is part of a larger health system with multiple campuses, providing specialized neonatal care across the region.

It was a pleasure working with noor staffing especially Rafsan, he was on top of communicating everything to me and explaining everything I need to do as this was my first travel contract I felt very prepared with information and was able to get everything done quick in a short period of time!
