Opportunity:
RN - ICU/MOSU
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available as days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Holidays based on unit coverage
• ICU/MOSU (Multi-Operational Service Unit) with 5 beds
• Patient ratios: 1:2 for ICU patients, 1:3 for MedSurg patients, 1:4 if no ICU patients on tele
• Must be able and willing to work with Medical/Surgical Telemetry patients in addition to ICU patients, with approximately 50% of time expected in a non-ICU environment
• May float to MedSurg or to MICU at main campus
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to contract
• Must be proficient with vasoactive drips and ventilator management
• Required to interpret EKGs using Phillips telemetry system
• EMR system: Cerner
• Must complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on Day 1 covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Navy scrubs required
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings, men must be clean shaven
• Must have own vehicle
• 50-mile radius rule applies - no local rate
• Must be independent, as there may be times when you are the only RN on the unit alongside a resource nurse and tech
• Strong positive attitude and teamwork skills required
• Must have strong general Medical and Surgical ICU experience
Facility:
This acute care facility operates an ICU/MOSU that is licensed to accommodate any level of care, maximizing flexibility and productivity across patient populations. The unit is supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy, a SWAT RN for rapid response and PICC lines, a shared charge nurse model, and access to pharmacy services. The facility maintains high clinical standards and requires nurses to demonstrate competency in critical skills including sterile field technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes through a mandatory simulation lab evaluation.
