Opportunity:

RN - MS/Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with both day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) options available with self-scheduling to fill open shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• One winter and one summer holiday requirement
• Possibility of being placed on standby; no on-call requirement
• Floating requirements apply
• No RTO approved for the first week of assignment
• 32-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit on the 7th floor
• Patient ratios of 4:1 (50% of the time) and 5:1 (50% of the time)
• Nurse aides on unit with ratios averaging 8:1 to 10:1
• Treat Medical/Surgical overflow patients and non-acute stroke patients
• Required to titrate drips including insulin and pain medications
• Required to validate centralized telemetry strips
• Work with BiPAP and high flow respiratory equipment
• Both charge nurse and house supervisor support available on unit
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience with telemetry required
• Epic experience is required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Scrub color: No specific color required; professional and clean attire, no denim
• Acute care setting
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

Facility:

This acute care facility features a highly functioning Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit known for its great support structure and family-oriented team culture. The unit is equipped to handle Medical/Surgical overflow as well as non-acute stroke patients, supported by both charge nurses and house supervisors. The facility utilizes Epic as its charting system and provides a collaborative environment with nurse aides, respiratory therapy support, and centralized telemetry monitoring.
