Opportunity:

RN - IMU

Job Details:

• 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, with shifts running from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; must be on the unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• 48-hour guaranteed hours per week
• Weekends as scheduled; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all considered weekend shifts
• Night shift requires 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule; day shift requires 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule with a minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling is allowed as long as unit needs are met; staff are allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios goal is 1:4, though typically running 1:5 and occasionally 1:6
• Float requirement to Tele or MedSurg units as needed with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently; facility uses Nihon Kohden tele monitors
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Respiratory equipment including AirVo (high flow) and Respironics (BiPAP) is managed by Respiratory Therapy
• IV team handles all IV starts; IV team is in-house 24/7 along with a PICC/Midline team
• Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post cardiac catheterization, groin checks, intermediate care overflow patients, and Tikosyn therapy management
• EMR system: Sunrise; charting system: EPIC; medication management via Pyxis
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom with navy scrub jacket; no hoodies
• Strict attendance policy: 2 occurrences including tardies or call-offs will result in termination; emergencies must be reported more than 2 hours prior to shift
• Must submit a copy of unexpired driver's license; 50-mile radius rule applies
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit featuring a mix of private and semi-private rooms, equipped to handle a wide range of intermediate acuity patient needs. The facility offers robust 24/7 support services including hospitalist and intensivist coverage, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and dedicated IV and PICC/Midline teams. Charge nurses maintain full patient assignments on both day and night shifts, supported by Clinical Assistants and typically 2-3 CNAs on the floor.
