Opportunity:

RN - IMU (Intermediate Care Unit)

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts running from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with staff required to be on the unit and ready by 6:45 PM
• 48-hour weekly guarantee
• Weekends as scheduled - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all considered weekend shifts with 4 weekend night shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling is allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met with up to 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios goal of 1:4, though typically running 1:5 and occasionally 1:6
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently (Nihon Kohden monitors)
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Charting system: EPIC; EMR: Sunrise; Medications dispensed via Pyxis
• All staff required to float as needed into Tele or MedSurg with ratios up to 1:6, possibly 1:7 in MedSurg
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, rule-out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post pacer, pre/post cath procedures, and patients on Tikosyn therapy
• RN scrub color: Navy blue top and bottom with navy scrub jackets (no hoodies)
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract with zero tolerance for attendance issues including tardies and call-offs; 2 occurrences will result in termination
• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license and disclose any licensing hits at time of submission
• BSN not required; willing to wait for license

Facility:

This acute care facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with a mix of private and semi-private rooms. The facility maintains robust 24/7 support services including hospitalist and intensivist coverage, an in-house IV and PICC/Midline team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The unit is well-equipped with telemetry monitoring technology and a dedicated team of charge nurses, clinical assistants, and nurse aides to support patient care.
