Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Fort Dodge, Iowa
Facility: Trinity Regional Medical Center
Employment Type: Temporary (Travel)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work primarily outpatient with 1 day per week in acute care.
• Part of an interdisciplinary team providing and managing patient care.
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Use EPIC EMR system with flowsheets for documentation.
• Typical patient load:

  • Acute care: 10-12 patients/day
  • Outpatient: 8-10 patients/day
• Schedule includes 45-minute patient visits.
• Facility recently updated with 12 private treatment rooms and a large open gym space.
• Team includes 4 other PTs and 4 PTAs, with daily morning huddles and monthly staff meetings.
• Lead therapist available for scheduling and support.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of previous PT experience required.
  • At least 1 completed travel contract preferred.
  • Outpatient experience required; inpatient experience encouraged due to acute care day.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA or ARC) required.
• Licensure:

  • Must hold a valid Iowa PT license.
• Skills:

  • EPIC EMR experience required.
• Additional:

  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
  • Work history/resume required.
  • Proof of taxable home address required (for billing purposes).
  • References highly preferred (may be required during onboarding).

Facility Information

• Busy outpatient clinic located within the main hospital campus.
• Offers OT, PT, and ST services.
• Adjacent wound healing center, HBO chambers, and lymphedema services provided by OT staff.
• Designated front desk team handles patient scheduling, insurance, and prior authorizations.
• Travelers are welcomed and integrated into the team approach.

Additional Notes

• Travelers must be COVID vaccinated; medical/religious exemptions considered.
• Holiday work required: must work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving).
• Limited time off allowed during late November and late December holiday periods.

This position is ideal for PTs with outpatient experience looking for a travel opportunity that includes some inpatient exposure in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
