Job Opportunity: CT Technologist - Imaging Services

Location: Tacoma, Washington
Facility Type: Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Shift: 10-hour shifts, every other week Wednesday to Tuesday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (night shift)
  • Weekend rotation: Possible
  • Holiday work: Possible if scheduled
  • On-call: Not required unless emergent and voluntary
  • Orientation: 1-2 weeks day shift orientation

Unit & Patient Population

  • Clinical Interview Unit with 4 CT rooms
  • Patient types include trauma (adult and pediatric Level II), stroke, ER cases, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
  • Average patients per day:
    • Days: 45
    • Evenings: 56
    • Nights: 28
    • Total ~130 patients per 24-hour period

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years CT experience required (1 year not accepted)
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Required licenses/certifications:
    • ARRT (CT)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • Washington State CT Technologist license

Skills & Competencies

  • Trauma imaging experience
  • IV insertion skills required

Support & Team Structure

  • Lead Tech available 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 2-5 CT Techs per shift depending on time of day
  • Radiologist available off-site at night
  • Transporter available during day and evening shifts; ER/inpatient staff assist with patient transport at night

Technology & Equipment

  • EMR system: EPIC
  • PACS system: McKesson
  • CT equipment: Siemens

Additional Information

  • No floating to other departments
  • Scrub color: Any solid, professional color
  • Free parking available in garage

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Flu documentation for 2025-26 season
  • Annual core competencies
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • Criminal background check and drug screen
  • Immunizations and titers (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TDAP)
  • HIPAA training and confidentiality agreements
  • Physical exam and PPD test
  • Various employment and compliance authorizations and screenings
