Job Description
- Position available at a healthcare facility in Wichita, KS.
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Medical/Surgical unit.
Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. Disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
- License/Certificate Verification: Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- BLS (AHA): Required prior to onboarding.
- NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
- MOAB Moderate Risk: De-escalation training required.
- Driver's License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file.
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer required; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with specific timing; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes 12 specified substances.
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, two attempts allowed.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of 80% required; two attempts allowed. Must be updated to latest version as needed.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Professional Requirements
- Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: Required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after breaks in service.
- EPLS Check: Must be run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start; official transcripts required if verification fails.
- Employment Verification: Past seven years required; updated annually or after breaks in service.
- Onboarding Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire education modules required.
- Onsite Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Required.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
- Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
Optional Documents
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional for onboarding but must be uploaded within one week by unit leader.
- Positive PPD Documentation: Must provide IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray, and TB questionnaire together.
- Hiring Manager Evaluation: Post-assignment evaluation (optional).
- Name Change Documentation: Legal documentation if applicable.
This position requires thorough credentialing, health screenings, and compliance with Ascension Health’s onboarding standards prior to assignment start.
