Job Description
- Position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care.
- Assignment located in Wichita, Kansas.
Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. Disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
- License/Certificate Verification: Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- BLS (AHA): Required prior to onboarding.
- NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
- MOAB Moderate Risk (De-Escalation Training): Required prior to onboarding.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, max two attempts. Updated exam as of Dec 1, 2023.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Required with signed attestation.
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, max two attempts, updated yearly.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Personal Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer required; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required with specific timing; annual TB questionnaire required. Positive TB requires chest X-ray within one year.
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire recommended.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite. Annual update required.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes 12 specified drugs. Retesting required if break in service > 90 days.
Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: Required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Education Verification: Relevant to clinical work; completed within 90 days of start and updated if break in service > 90 days.
- Employment Verification: Past seven years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
- Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
- Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current, match address on file, and show front/back.
Onboarding & Training
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of 6-hour pre-hire training with attestation.
- Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
- Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
Optional
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional for onboarding; uploaded by unit leader within one week.
- Hiring Manager Evaluation: Post-assignment evaluation.
- Ascension Name Change Document: Legal documentation if applicable.
This position requires thorough credential verification, immunizations, and completion of specific Ascension onboarding modules and tests prior to assignment start.
