Registered Nurse (RN) - Temporary Position

Location: Bellaire, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and facility policies.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
• Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify appropriate parties of changes.
• Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) to assess resident condition.
• Assign duties and coordinate nursing services on the resident unit to meet resident needs per physician instructions and regulations.
• Consult with Shift Supervisor on nursing issues and policy interpretation.
• Report complaints or unusual problems and assist with complaint reports.
• Participate in orientation, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Evaluate nursing activities to ensure quality resident care and staff efficiency.
• Maintain records for unit narcotics and inspect resident rooms for cleanliness and comfort.
• Document admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reports per facility policies.
• Participate in care plan process, complete nursing assessments and resident care plans accurately and timely.
• Complete special projects and audits as directed.
• Maintain all educational requirements to keep Michigan RN license current.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with Resident's Rights rules.
• Promptly report all resident accidents and injuries to charge nurses.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years experience in Long Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), or Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) settings.
• At least one successful travel assignment as an RN completed (must be noted in work history).
• Return to Office (RTO) cannot exceed 5 days; no RTO approval after offer is made.
• COVID-19 vaccine strongly preferred; if declining, mask wearing is mandated.
• Work history must include explanations for any employment gaps over 3 months.
• Skills checklist specific to nursing discipline (less than 1 year old).
• Two supervisory references from the past two years.
• Active Michigan RN license (must be current at time of submission).
• Current certifications, including BLS (AHA).
• COVID vaccination card if applicable (vaccination status must be included in submission).
• Agency must have an active Michigan iCHAT account and be authorized to schedule fingerprinting.
• Clinician must be flexible with scheduling; block scheduling is not approved.
• Limited housing options; candidates should plan accordingly.
• Locals residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week: every other weekend plus 2 shifts during the week.
• Facility operates on a Sunday-Saturday schedule; weekend shifts may include Saturday or Sunday.
• Overtime and holiday pay apply at 1.25x the regular rate.
• Call-back pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours.
• Orientation time is non-billable.

Certifications Required

• BLS (AHA)

State License
