Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT) - California, Santa Maria

Job Overview

Position: Home Health OT (Travel Contract)
Location: Santa Maria, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Experience Required: Minimum 2 full years
Licenses/Certifications: Active BLS and California OT License required
Work Setting: Home-based care covering a specific geographical region

Job Details

Unit: PT, OT, Speech (Marian & Arroyo Grande)
EMR System: Cerner
Rehab Aides/OTA/PTA: Present, usually permanent staff
Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
Holidays: Minor holidays off; major holidays only if needed
Dress Code: Business attire with white lab coat; no jeans
Shifts: Flexible, majority Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (8-hour days)
Orientation: 1.5 to 2 weeks floor-specific orientation

Patient Population & Diagnoses

Common Diagnoses: Orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint issues, spinal injuries
Speech Therapy: Various diagnoses
Experience with OASIS (government-mandated form) required
Home health experience preferred but not mandatory

Additional Notes

Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with PT/OT/Speech in any setting
Outpatient and inpatient care not applicable
