Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technician

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: Day shift, 4 ten-hour shifts per week
Additional Requirements: Weeknight and weekend call required
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Requirements and Credentials

Licenses & Certifications

• Current professional license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• Valid Driver's License or State ID (must not be expired and address must match records)

Professional Credentials

• Signed Assignment Agreement (required for onboarding)
• Resume/Profile submission required
• Two professional references required prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
• EPLS check within 90 days of start (rerun if break in service > 90 days)
• Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
• Employment verification for past 7 years (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
• Specialty exam demonstrating competency in Cath Lab (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
• Skills checklist for specialty (clinical only, updated annually)
• Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Influenza vaccine for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted but mask required
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred prior to start (annual update)
• TB Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances

Summary

This is a long-term Cath Lab Technician position in Austin, TX requiring day shifts with additional on-call responsibilities during weeknights and weekends. Candidates must meet extensive credentialing, licensing, health, and competency requirements prior to onboarding and maintain them throughout the assignment. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
