Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day/Night rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)

  • Shifts may vary to meet hospital operational needs
  • Facility will try to honor preferred shifts but reserves the right to rotate

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience (travel experience accepted)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications

• Must have a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand
• Required certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS Stroke Certification (updated annually)
• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate pass required during orientation

Work Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday
• Pass required competency exams including medication and unit-specific competency exams
• Pass onsite orientation testing (ECG & medication)

Onboarding & Compliance

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Background checks required including:

  • 7-year FCRA compliant search
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 48 hours of contract signing, updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates starting 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tdap every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Annual flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)

Documentation & History

• 2 professional references from within 1 year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application including 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams
• State-specific fingerprint attestation for Ohio (BCI/FBI) required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Modules and onboarding must be completed before clearance to start
• Candidates with gaps longer than 40 days between assignments may need to update physical exam, chest X-ray, and eye exam
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs with strong clinical backgrounds and current Ohio licensure, seeking a 13-week travel assignment with rotating shifts in a large hospital setting.
