Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Unit: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Certifications Required:

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• Preferred Experience: OB surgical recovery (C-section)
• EPIC experience required
• Call Schedule:

  • On-call hours approximately 16-20 hours over a 6-week schedule
  • Option to pick up one extra weekend shift and one extra weekday shift instead of call

Required Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS): Required for all positions
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required for critical care areas (not always for LDRP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required for some units (check applicability)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC): Required for ER, preferred for ICU
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required for LDRP
• State Nursing License: Maryland license or compact state license with proof of residency
• NURSYS Verification: Required as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for most units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery; must be AHA or APEX certified (can be obtained onsite within first week)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
• Competency Exams: Including Moderate Sedation and specialty testing as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific approved mask types)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (True 2-Step PPD accepted)
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted)

Background & Documentation Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks annually
• Fingerprinting (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI) required for school placements only
• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID matching state of license
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Performance evaluation if previously worked with the system over 1 year
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
