Job Overview

    • Care for patients with advanced heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and complex cardiac conditions (e.g., electrolyte imbalanced dysrhythmias, tachy-brady syndromes).
    • Patients awaiting heart transplants and those with implantable devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, or Ventricular Assistive Devices (VAD).
    • Care includes pre and post cardiac catheterization, ablation, and chemical cardioversion using Tikosyn.
    • Also serves as a backup location for hospitalist services, providing a broader medical-surgical nursing experience.

  • Ohio Fingerprints – Required (BCI&I check and FBI fingerprint check depending on residency duration)

  • Employment Verification – Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
  • OIG Search – To be completed within 6 months prior to start
  • SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Screening – To be completed within 6 months prior to start
  • Drug Screen – 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screens not accepted
  • UHS I-9 Attestation – Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Competency & Training Requirements

  • UHS Competency Exam – Must score at least 80%, completed within 1 year prior to start
  • UHS Core Competencies – Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission-NPSG, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required
  • UHS Skills Checklist – Skill-specific checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (clinical only)
  • UHS Module Completion Certificate – Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal
  • UHS Badge Photo – Required professional photo (JPEG)
