Travel RN ICU Position - Wichita, Kansas

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center

Onboarding & Training Requirements

  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
  • CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or MOAB De-Escalation Course)
  • CPI/MOAB High Risk On-Site Portion (completed at orientation)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within required timeframes
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Health Statement: Annual statement of good health or physical exam

Background & Verification

  • Ascension Criminal Background Check (7-year search including SSN trace, employment, national criminal, and sex offender checks)
  • Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary List) check within 90 days of start
  • Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
  • Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years)
  • Ascension 2 Professional References (at least two)
  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile)

Drug Screening

  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
    (Includes Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, PCP, Methamphetamine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Buprenorphine, Methadone, Oxycodone, Morphine, Ecstasy)

  • Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for onboarding.

This position requires a highly qualified ICU RN with all certifications current and verifications completed timely to meet Ascension Health’s onboarding standards.
