Travel RN ICU Position - Wichita, Kansas

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Facility Type: Trauma hospital (St. Francis Campus)


Specialty & Experience Requirements

  • Ascension Core Competencies - Completed within a year of start; updated yearly; minimum 80% passing score; only 2 attempts allowed
  • Ascension EKG Exam - Completed prior to start; minimum 80% passing score; only 2 attempts allowed
  • Ascension Skills Checklist - Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start; updated annually
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen - Within 30 days prior to start; includes testing for 12 specified drugs; must include MRO review if applicable

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B - Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza Vaccine - Required for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire - Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year, and completed TB questionnaire
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) - Required within specified timeframes prior to start
  • Varicella - Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
  • Tdap - Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • Fit Test - Required annually; preferred prior to start

Onboarding & Documentation Requirements

  • Ascension Profile (Resume)
  • Two Professional References - Required prior to first assignment
  • Criminal Background Check - Including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Employment Verification - Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Education Verification - Must be completed within 90 days of start; diplomas not accepted, official transcripts required if verification fails
  • Health Statement - Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment; updated annually
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment - Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions

Additional Notes

  • Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation are required.
  • Various Ascension-specific onboarding education and attestations must be completed prior to or at start.
  • Some optional checklists and evaluations may be required by the unit leader.

This position requires thorough compliance with Ascension Health’s credentialing, testing, and health requirements to ensure readiness for a trauma hospital ICU environment.
