Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Job Details

• Shift: Day/Night rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm)
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12's)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
  • Minimum 18 months permanent experience in specialty prior to travel assignments
• Licensure: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
• Testing:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM (monthly)
  • HHS/OIG (monthly)
  • Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) within 12 months, updated annually
• Education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel within 12 months, updated annually
• References: Two professional references from within one year, from supervisors or managers
• Employment application with 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical acute care experience in a similar area
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (unit-specific)
• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start
• Pass/fail testing for ECG and medication dosing during orientation

Additional Requirements

• Must complete fingerprinting under nursing code 4723.09
• Fingerprinting results must be received prior to contract extension
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if prints are completed before start
• Candidates must complete all onboarding modules on a computer using Google Chrome; modules cannot be completed on a phone
• Candidates must watch training videos fully before taking tests in modules
• Candidates returning to the facility after a break longer than 6 months must re-complete modules
• Candidates must be legally named correctly in onboarding systems
