Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Operating Room) - Travel/Contract
Location: Weston, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse, Operating Room
- Shift: 1100-2330 with liver call; may assist with other cases if no liver/transplant cases available
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant or RN experience required
- Strong experience required in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
- Candidates must have experience with organ implantation (not just harvesting)
- Proficiency in Misonix/CUSA equipment required
- First-time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of submission
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of submission
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must obtain prior to start
Work Schedule & On-Call Requirements
- On-call: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Pending license accepted
Important Facility Policies
- Smoke-free facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (verified by negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test)
- Time-sensitive online training modules must be completed prior to start; delays are not permitted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Proof of I9, government-issued photo ID, and E-Verify or attestation required
- State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) administered during orientation
- Multiple health documents required including:
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- COVID vaccination series or approved exemption
- Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Skills checklist must be updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be aware of and complete all required online onboarding modules by due dates; modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome and cannot be skipped
- Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates
- Candidates must submit all required documentation and certifications prior to start to avoid delays
