Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (Temp, Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Position Summary
Seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a temporary night shift role. The position involves working across multiple campuses and may require floating to different units, including general Pediatric floors.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 36 months (3 years) of Respiratory Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting
- At least 24 months (2 years) of current RRT or CRT Respiratory Therapy experience (work history must reflect this)
- Experience in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) required; candidate may work across PICU/NICU floors
- Equipment experience highly preferred:
- HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation)
- Jet Ventilator
- Servo U Ventilator
- EPIC electronic medical records experience required
- All certifications and Iowa RCP license must be current and in hand (licensing turnaround time varies)
- Required certifications:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Skills checklist specific to Respiratory Therapy discipline required
- Driver’s license required
Work Environment & Additional Information
- 36-40 hours per week, with overtime billable after 40 hours
- May be required to float across multiple campuses
- Patient types include all ages
- Scrubs color: Gunpowder Gray
- Equipment used includes power injection contrast injections
- Orientation dates are firm and scheduled in advance
