Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Patient ratios:

  • Days/Evenings: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
  • Nights: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Float between Med Surg and Stepdown units
• Types of patients: Medical Surgical and Stepdown patients
• EMR system: EPIC
• Scrub colors: Black, Navy
• Overtime/Holiday pay multiplier: 1.15x
• Call back pay multiplier: 1.5x with 2-hour minimum
• On-call pay: Additional hourly rate
• Charge/Precept pay available

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years (36 months) Medical Surgical nursing experience (required)
  • Experience administering nitroglycerin, heparin, amiodarone including titrations (required)
  • EPIC EMR experience (required)
  • Stepdown experience (highly preferred)
  • Critical care experience (nice to have)
  • Neurology and oncology care experience (preferred)
• Licensure:

  • Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license (required)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) (required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) (required)
• Additional:

  • Must have 24 months of current Operating Room experience (required)
  • Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse discipline (required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Professional references within the last 24 months (preferred)
