Job Description
Provide nursing care in the postpartum unit, supporting mothers and newborns in a hospital setting.
Required Experience
- Specialty: RN Post Partum

- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Varicella (two vaccines or immunity proof, no declinations)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations)
- TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement or physical exam (annual)
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
Required Onboarding & Compliance
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Background checks including:
- Criminal background check (7-year search including SSN trace, OIG, National Sex Offender)
- EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days of start
- Drug Screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Education verification within 90 days prior to start
- Employment verification for past 7 years
- Ascension-specific onboarding requirements and attestations
- Skills checklist and competency validations updated annually
Additional Notes
- Some assessments and checklists must be completed prior to or at onboarding, including color vision test and unit-specific checklists.
- Certain exams and competencies require a minimum passing score of 80% with limited attempts.
- Documentation of all required immunizations and health screenings must be current and uploaded as part of credentialing.
- This position requires compliance with facility-specific electronic health record testing (Cerner).
This role is ideal for a postpartum RN with current certifications and licenses, ready to work in a travel capacity in a mother/baby unit.
