Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical for a travel assignment.

Required Qualifications

• License: Current and valid RN license for Kansas with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
  • NIH Certification (updated every 2 years)
  • MOAB Moderate Risk Certification
• Competencies & Testing:

  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension EKG Exam with at least 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty), completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out (electronic health record system competency).
• Health & Immunizations:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within last 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire. Two-step PPD or IGRA required within 90 days prior to start.
  • Fit Test: Annual respiratory fit test required.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Background & Verification:

  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
  • Employment verification for past 7 years, updated annually.
  • Education verification within 90 days prior to start.
  • At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
• Additional Requirements:

  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid).
  • Ascension Profile (resume or professional profile).
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation.
  • Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
  • Completion of Ascension Onboarding Requirements and related education attestations.
