Job Opportunity: Temp Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT) (Nights)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a busy department with 5 CT techs on day shift, 2-3 from 6pm to 11pm, and 1 from midnight to 6am.
• Department uses Toshiba Aquilion One 640 slice and Siemens 128 slice CT scanners.
• Average of 80-90 cases per 24-hour period.
• Located in a stroke center accredited hospital with a high-volume ER.
• Perform brain perfusion exams using RapidAI software for intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).
• Department uses EPIC and McKesson PACS, with after-hours reading by Real Radiology and recent use of Clario software.
• CT techs may assist X-ray techs with morning portables if not busy; cross-training in X-ray is not required.
• Ultrasound staffed 24/7 nearby but functions separately.
• Patient transporters assist with moving patients; CT techs may transport themselves if needed.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT (CT) certification required.
• Minimum of 24 months (2 years) of CT experience in a clinical or hospital setting required.
• Active Iowa radiology license required; non-licensed candidates may apply but must obtain license upon acceptance.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Work history/resume must document 24 months of current CT experience.
• Skills checklist specific to CT discipline required.
• Professional references from within the last 24 months preferred.

Additional Information

• Orientation date is firm and scheduled for 4/20.
• Night shift position.
• Department offers overtime and holiday pay multipliers.
• Call back and on-call pay available.
• Workweek typically 36-40 hours with overtime billable after 40 hours.
