Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Day/Night rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm) with possible variability to meet hospital operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate exam; passing scores required.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of telemetry experience, including Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to safely perform job functions.
• Fit mask (N95) test within 12 months, updated annually.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (no declinations accepted)
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted).
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start.

Background & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (BCI and FBI) required prior to start and updated annually.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; results required within 12 months and updated annually.
• Two professional references from employment within the last year required.
• Employment application with 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area to assignment.

Orientation & Training

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome).
• SafeMedicate and ECG competency exams during orientation with required passing scores.
• Modules and onboarding typically take multiple days; must be completed before clearance to start.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is required (must have completed at least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience; travel experience counts).
• Oncology experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Candidates must be prepared for rotating shifts and holiday work.
• Facility uses Qualivis – Lotus system for submitting hours worked.
