Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) (Nights)
Location
- Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type
- Temporary (13-week assignment)
Unit Description
- Open ICU covering Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, CVICU, and Neuro ICU
- May care for pediatric patients if helicopter transport is unavailable
- Two sections: 14-bed unit and 12-bed unit
- Patient placement based on bed availability, not reason for admittance
Staffing Ratios
- ICU: 1 nurse to 2 patients, occasionally 1:3
- May float to CVCU (1:4 staffing) or Emergency Department for hold patients with similar ratios during low census
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Current PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with pediatric patients
Additional Information
- Orientation for nursing travelers starts on Thursdays
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- No increased rate for overtime, holiday, or call-back hours
- On-call pay: $2 per hour with 1-hour minimum
- Local applicants within 50 miles considered at a reduced travel rate
- Non-compete: Former direct employees not eligible to return through agency until 6 months after direct employment ends
