Job Description

• Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
• Shift: Day/Night rotating shifts (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm). Shifts may vary based on hospital operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.
• ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam required during orientation (passing scores required).

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty (Med/Surg Telemetry) prior to travel assignments.
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (travel experience counts).
• One year of recent oncology/chemotherapy administration experience preferred but not required. Oncology nurses encouraged to apply; training provided for chemotherapy administration.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Must have a permanent Ohio RN license or a compact state RN license in hand.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross, RQI acceptable).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross, RQI acceptable).
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
• Pass baseline competency exams in medication administration (SafeMedicate) and ECG interpretation during orientation.

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience totaling at least 1.5 years, including experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Orientation includes completion of online training modules prior to start; must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Candidates must complete all required onboarding modules before clearance to start.
• Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 6 months may need to repeat onboarding modules.
• Candidates must pass facility-specific competency exams during orientation.
• Candidates must submit a photo for badge issuance.
• Candidates must be able to submit hours worked via Qualivis – Lotus system.

Prior Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience is required: must have completed at least 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele experience, travel experience counts toward this requirement.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Med/Surg Telemetry RN in Cleveland, Ohio. The role requires a minimum of 18 months of permanent and recent specialty experience, Ohio RN licensure, and multiple certifications including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
