Job Opportunity: Travel RN - Medical/Surgical
Location: Waco, Texas

Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
- Coordinate care across all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Compliance and Testing
- Ascension Specialty Exam (passing score ≥ 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc., passing score ≥ 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score ≥ 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
- Ascension Epic Test-Out (completion prior to start)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season; exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start.
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days prior to start.
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Additional Requirements
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Employment and Education Verification within 90 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Driver’s License/State ID valid and matching address requirements.
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Professional references: At least two required prior to first assignment.
Notes
- Various onboarding and compliance checklists and attestations required prior to or at start of assignment.
- Must be able to complete all required documentation and testing as specified.
