Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) (Nights)

Job Description

This position involves performing a variety of integrated pre- and post-operative critical care functions using the nursing process and broad nursing knowledge in a caring and concerned manner. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing patients for physical, emotional, psychosocial, and family support needs
• Organizing and coordinating all aspects of patient care based on patient needs
• Evaluating patient progress by correlating patient information with nursing knowledge to determine if goals are being met according to the plan of care or clinical path
• Consulting and collaborating with healthcare team members to plan and implement total patient care

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Open Heart Surgery experience (Open Heart Trained)
• Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
• Work history and skills checklist pertinent to ICU specialty, current within 1 year
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel assignment history preferred (not required)
• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system preferred

Additional Information

• Dress code: Navy Blue Scrubs
• EMR system used: Epic
• Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility (local candidates will not be considered)

This role requires strong critical care nursing skills in a fast-paced ICU environment with a focus on surgical and cardiac patients.
