Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg Telemetry experience for a travel contract position. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night schedule (7pm-7:30am / 7am-7:30pm). Shift rotation may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.
• Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel assignments.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current Ohio RN license or a compact state license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday.
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam during orientation.
• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background checks including fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) must be completed and updated annually.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming ability to perform essential job functions.
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required: Tdap, TB test or chest X-ray, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, flu vaccination (seasonal), drug screening, and eye exam.
• Two professional references from within one year of start date required.
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding modules prior to start.
• Competency exams and pass/fail testing on medication administration and ECG interpretation required at orientation.

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation includes competency testing on medication administration and ECG interpretation.
• Completion of online training modules is mandatory before starting.
• SafeMedicate prep materials provided for exam preparation.
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing; facility will also conduct fingerprinting onsite.
• Candidates may start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start.

Notes

• Candidates with a gap of less than 6 months since their last assignment at this facility may be exempt from some orientation requirements.
• Candidates must use their legal name consistently on all documentation.
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; mobile devices are not supported.
• Medical and religious exemptions for vaccines and fit mask are accepted but require agency and facility approval.
