Job Opportunity: Pediatric RN - Cardiac ICU
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio varies by shift and patient acuity:
- 1:1 for ICU status patients
- 1:2 for ICU status patients
- 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU patients
Required Experience & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients in a CVICU setting
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Licenses
- License verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start.
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start.
Additional Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists demonstrating proficiency in Pediatric Cardiac ICU nursing.
- Compliance with health and safety requirements including:
- Immunizations: MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza (seasonal)
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with follow-up as needed
- Hepatitis B vaccination or documented declination
- Drug screening (12-panel) within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Fit testing for respiratory protection
- Completion of onboarding education and attestations related to HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission standards, and facility-specific protocols.
- Background checks, employment and education verifications, and professional references required prior to assignment.
