Surgical Tech - Washington (Travel Contract)

Job Overview

An experienced Surgical Tech is needed for a travel contract in Washington. The position involves working in the Operating Room (OR) with a focus on orthopedic cases and use of advanced surgical robots.

Location

• City: Lakewood, Washington

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Details

• OR with 5 suites
• Average of 15 cases per day (inpatient and outpatient)

Common Cases

• Orthopedics (total joints: knees, hips, shoulders)
• Podiatry
• General surgery
• ENT
• Plastics
• Use of Da Vinci Robot and Stryker MAKO robot for total joints (MAKO robot experience required)

Schedule & Call

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (scheduled day off rotates)
• Call required:

  • 1 weekend 24-hour shift per month (Saturday or Sunday)
  • 3 weeknight call shifts per month (6:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• No floating requirements

Orientation

• 3-5 shifts of orientation depending on traveler’s comfort level and prior experience

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Active BLS certification

Additional Information

• Scrubbing is required for Surgical Techs
• Charge nurse and OR techs are present on unit
• EMR system used: EPIC
• Scrub color/dress code provided
