Description

Registered Nurse - CVICU

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

Evening/Night shifts
12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
Every other weekend required
Some holidays required
No on-call duties

Required Experience & Skills

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience required
Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred
Basic Arrhythmia experience required
Must pass a Telemetry test prior to start

Licensure & Certifications

Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) required
American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

Required Testing & Competencies

Telemetry test (pass/fail) required before starting
Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
Annual skills checklist required
Background checks and education verifications as per standard requirements
Various facility-specific compliance documents and acknowledgments required

Immunizations & Health Requirements

Proof of immunizations or approved exemptions for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination form)
- Influenza (annual vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption)
- Tuberculosis screening (negative TB test or chest X-ray)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof of at least one adult Tdap)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (if applicable)
Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols

Additional Requirements

Completion of Wisconsin BID Form and Caregiver Screening prior to start
Physical exam within 1 year (to meet agency standard)
Passport-style photo for badge issuance
References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
Employment application required

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
Minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Arrhythmia experience
