Job Opportunity: Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography
Location: Wyandotte, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Under general supervision, perform computerized tomographic (CT) radiological procedures on patients. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Responsibilities include preparing patients and equipment, conducting CT scans, administering intravenous contrast media, assisting with complex sterile diagnostic procedures, and ensuring high-quality imaging and documentation.
Essential Functions
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for CT scans.
- Review clinical data and patient medical history as needed.
- Prepare procedure room and maintain supplies.
- Set up equipment and manually control CT scanner to obtain diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions.
- Assist Radiologist with complex sterile procedures such as biopsies.
- Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
- Manage imaging data and documentation in Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork and professionalism.
- Complete all necessary clinical and billing documentation.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED or completion of required ongoing medical education hours.
Certification & Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Work may be in a hospital fixed unit or ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment; proper precautions required.
- Possible exposure to contagious patients.
- Occasional lifting or moving of equipment and/or patients over 10 lbs.
